Intraoral Photos

The old saying goes, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” That has never been truer than when it comes to the use of intraoral photos in the dental office. These crystal clear images allow our team to show patients parts of their smile, explain treatment options, and make sure patients truly understand their treatment plans. We also use our unique intraoral camera system to capture digital bite impressions. These impressions and photos are easily stored and transferred electronically, making interacting with a dental lab fast and easy. We can also use the digital impressions in conjunction with our in-office CEREC milling unit to create dental crowns and other restorations in just one appointment.

Digital X-Rays

Digital x-rays allow us to quickly and safely examine the underlying structures of patients’ smiles. By capturing regular digital x-rays, we will notice any changes in oral and facial structures right away, and diagnose oral health concerns in the earliest possible stages, making it even easier to help patients keep their smiles whole and healthy for life. We’ll capture a series of x-rays at least once each year as part of dental checkups, and like intraoral photos, we’ll share these x-ray images with patients as part of their treatment planning.

CEREC

Traditionally, advanced dental restorations require patients to visit our office at least two times and the entire process can take weeks or months. Rather than visiting our office numerous times and waiting weeks with a temporary restoration, the CEREC system allows us to repair damaged teeth with dental crowns, fixed bridges, and other restorations, in just one short visit.

3D Imagining

Traditional x-rays and intraoral photos only offer a flat image of our patients’ smiles, but 3D imaging gives a full view of a single tooth or the complete oral and facial structures. From intricate inner-tooth thearpies like root canals to complete TMJ dysfunction or orthodontic treatments that affect the entire smile, 3D imagining offers a better understanding of how the patients’ oral and facial structures interact.

Computer Guided Surgery

For patients who need to restore one or more teeth, dental implants provide the most natural results. That’s because they’re structured like your natural teeth, with a crown on top and a “root” below. In this case, though, the root is actually made of titanium. Like a natural root, your titanium root will stabilize your restoration and promote bone growth in the jaw. At Amberly Dental, Dr. Vacek uses computer guided implant placement for an improved dental implant experience. Using this revolutionary approach, Dr. Vacek can precisely pinpoint where to insert your titanium post(s), without any guesswork. To do this, Dr. Vacek and the team at his Waverly dental office will use their contemporary tools to create a detailed, 3D model of your jaw. With this model, we can see parts of your smile that wouldn’t be visible with a visual exam or even basic digital x-rays. As a result, computer guided implant placement allows us to decide where to place your implants well in advance of your procedure itself.

Because we can take the guesswork out of dental implants, patients from Waverly and beyond can look forward to a faster, more comfortable experience with better results. Not every patient is a good candidate for dental implants, though. That’s something else our contemporary technology can help us see. With a computer model of your jaw, we can determine whether dental implants via computer guided implant placement are really the best solution for you, or if an alternative solution might be more appropriate.

We can also use the tools of computer guided surgery to explain what you can expect from your procedure. Dr. Vacek will go over everything at his Waverly office. If you have any questions afterwards, don’t hesitate to ask. A big part of delivering quality care is making sure every patient is 100% comfortable with the treatment we recommend. Dr. Vacek will address all your concerns and help you come to a firm decision about what’s right for you.
